LMI Graduation holds in November
The Graduation ceremony, for the trainees in Lagos have been, scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 9th November, 2011 at the Lagos office.
LMI Parleys Youth Development Minister
On Wednesday, 21st September, 2011, the LMI team was at the Southern Sun Hotel, Ikoyi to meet with the Honorable Minister of Youth Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi on his visit to Lagos State. Discussions held was on ways in which the Federal and State Governments could partner and work with LMI to empower more youths in the country for a transformed economy.
British Women's Group, Lagos hold graduation ceremony for sponsored trainee
On Tuesday,13th September, 2011 at Pier Harbour, the British Women's Group, Lagos had a graduation ceremony to send forth their sponsored trainee with the Lady Mechanic Initiative, Blessing Chijioke after three years of her programme. She was presented with a set of tool kits as Graduation present from the BWG, this is prior to the formal graduation will be coming up on Wednesday the 9th of November, 2011 at the Lady Mechanic Initiative Garage. Blessing was present at the event with the Founder of the Initiative, Engr. Sandra Aguebor-Ekperuoh, the Programme Coordinator, Lucy Ushie and her mother, Mrs. Comfort Chijioke, who was full of praise and appreciation to the founder and the BWG Group for giving her daughter, a sustainable means of livelihood.
LMI Graduates 17 Trainees from PAN
On Wednesday, 17th August, 2011 in Peugeot Automobile Nigeria, (PAN) training centre, Kaduna State, LMI graduated the first batch of 17 trainees from PAN, after a three months intensive training/high class training programme on faults finding, repairs, installation, dismantling and assembly in Auto Mechanic Maintenance and Repair Technology.
The event had in attendance, PAN Officials, head of the Vocational School PAN learning Centre Engr. Emmanuel S. Imejebe welcomed the trainees and they were ushered to their classroom where the orientation and induction activities were scheduled to take place. The ceremony began at 10.00am with the registration of the trainees which was followed by a welcome address by the (Management) Group head corporate resources (the mother of PAN) Alhaja Marian Mohammed and the acting Director General Mrs. Elizabeth Mordi. She commended their efforts and encouraged them to put to great use the opportunity given to them and wished them a happy stay at PAN, She also stressed to them not to disappoint themselves and their parents /guardians as well as the Initiative by creating a record that will stop other trainees from getting the same opportunity they have been given to come to PAN to learn Next on the agenda was the introduction of the trainees to the learning centre, afterwards they were given their kits comprising of the PAN overall boots and stationeries. The LMI team, Founder LMI, Engr. Sandra Aguebor-Ekperuoh, a representative of LMI BOT, Engr. Theodore Ekperuoh, the Programme Coordinator for Benin, Ms. Omon Nasamu as well as the Coca-Cola and Nigerian Bottling Company representatives, (COCA-COLA SYSYTEM), Mr. Emeka Mba, Community Development Officer, Lagos and Mr. Uzo Odenigbo, Public Affairs Manager (North) from Abuja who are sponsoring 100 young women over a five year training programme with the Lady Mechanic Initiative Empowerment/training Programme to be professional auto-mechanics in Benin City, Edo State.
These was followed by the reception of the second batch of 17 trainees who will undergo the three months intensive training.

LMI Fund Raising Dinner

LMI in the last quarter of the year will be holding a fundraising/dinner to raise funds for the building of the permanent site, which will include an ultra modern garage, training centre, administrative and office blocks, hostels for trainees, a gas station for sustainability in Benin city, Edo state and in Lagos state respectively.
LMI Rebrands

The Lady Mechanic Initiative has rebranded with a new logo and a new zeal to help in the reduction of Human trafficking as well as to create a sustainable livelihood to young ladies/women across Nigeria.
LMI/Coca-cola Parley

On the 14th of April, LMI team held a meeting with the sponsors of the programme, Coca-Cola/Nigerian Bottling Company(NBC) team in the Benin office to ascertain the progress of the programme in the past one year as well to meet with the trainees of the programme, who just concluded their first year of the programme and the new in-coming trainees.
Parents/Guardians meets with LMI
15th April 2011
On the 15th of April, the LMI team met with Parents/Guardians of trainees and Pay and Train (P & T) Managers to know how the training has being going so far. Parents/Guardians of trainees in the second year where briefed on the Calendar for the second year training, which includes a three months intensive training in Peugeot Auto-mobile, Kaduna, (PAN) as well as to formally get their consent. The first batch of trainees left for Kaduna in April and due back on the 16th of July 2011.
Benin Rally
13th of April 2011
In April 2011 , LMI team from Lagos visited the Benin office, where a street storming and awareness campaign was held on the 13th of April on all the major streets and areas of the city to create awareness of the programme as well to recruit more trainees into the Initiative, so far there are a total of 75 trainees in Benin City, Edo State.
CNN Visits Lady Mechanic

In January, the CNN crew visited the Lady Mechanic Initiative garage where most of the young ladies empowered by the initiative work.
